Okay, I had to click the picture to see your Flickr page and then Google what I saw there. These are Darlingtonia californica or a cousin? Pitcher plants? And fairly uncommon?
The plants look like people mingling at a crowded cocktail party, rapt in conversation.

I had been posting death tankas here (Harley and Zeke) and had one to put to rest under your beautiful photo.

And are they these cobra lilies, or is the cocktail party elsewhere?
The very same.

It’s a Japanese form of 31 syllables; the form can act to pare away the extraneous.
I posted death tankas for Harley and Zeke, and now for someone I knew. The lilies seemed like a good place to put her death tanka under. I didn’t think Chris would mind.

the news articles do not at all capture that dr. kawai was a careful and caring doctor, one who cared for me and my kids at times over the years. her skin care practice was on the side, so far as i could tell. i can’t understand how this could happen.

Kathy, I’ve been watching that story unfold in some horror. I’m so sorry.
