A few things

I’ve been quiet here lately, and not just here. Some of this is due to the usual — today was 90 days, and the calendar is a tyrant that way still — and some due to the fact that I’ve got a paying job, a lordly 12 hours a week, at least for the month of May with option to renew later. It’s a job I’ve had before, working with a friend at UCSF, with JStor access and education pricing on software. It’s pleasant and a reason to get out of the house, but it cuts into blogging time a little.

I do have a couple posts working their way to the surface of my brain, and they should show up here in a day or two.

But a few things until then.

After magickitty requested it in comments, I added a few fiction titles to the bookstore. Just a few things I’ve read that I like very much. The store is a work in progress, of course.

Speaking of books, reader SS noted the presence on my Amazon Wish List of the book Rare Earth by Peter Ward and Donald Brownlee, and sent me her copy. I’m grateful, of course, and eager to dig in — I’ve been wanting to read it since it came out. Thank you, SS.

In this sometimes jaw-droppingly mean-spirited world, I am continually touched by the kindness you folks have shown me.

And not just you folks. Guess who, after three years living with us, decided to crawl into my lap for the very first time tonight?

Of course, he did so because it was the easiest way to stick his head in the food I was holding. But still, it’s something.

I'm sorry, but the comment period for this entry has ended.

Bunny!  The twitching nose!  The swiveling ears!

(What camera do you use?)

thistle has to be the happiest bun.

Thanks for that! As E.B. White certainly would have said:

Some Bunny.

I love the crooked expressions - skeptical, busy.

I missed the passing of Zeke 3 months ago but prior to Feb.  I read your blog “religiously”. I just rediscovered it recently.  Sorry for your loss.
Thanks for the wonderful writing, always a high point of my day.

Fiction! Well, now I have no excuse for not reading something out of my usual comfort zone.

Thanks, doll.

Best bunny video EVAH!

Thanks for posting it again.

Thistle would fit in nicely with this crowd: Bunnies who disapprove.

Loved the hand reaching down through the plants...it seemed a Beatrix Potter moment.

At one point, Thistle’s ears moved in time to the music.

Thistle: the perfect name for a rabbit.

Ah, bunny love, minimally requited.

Thistle’s video just makes me happy.

I am shocked, shocked I say. that you would show lapine porn to an unwitting audience. The butt-fondling scene was just beyond the pail.

No, not the fence and the shovel. The PAIL.
