It’s hard to believe it was a year ago today that Mr. Attitude here came to live with us.
His expression in this shot is the result of being chased around the yard a few times. The routine goes like this: I follow him around and around the yard until he remembers that when he goes inside, I stop chasing him. This is much easier than our protocol a year ago, which was actually trying to catch him. It also works better in the rabbit psychology world: the animals are much happier if they feel they make the decisions. He’s got a choice: go inside, or continue being chased. This is a much less degrading situation for a higher being than being ignominiously caught and carried inside. Which, as it happens, is what happened shortly after I took this photo: he cornered himself in the compost bin, and I took advantage of the situation.
Yes, that is the exterior house paint color I chose. Why do you ask?
