Sheesh. I hate my camera. Looking at the exif data on the photo, it says the white balance setting was Fluorescent. I don’t think you can even change that on my cheap camera. Probably why everything is blue.

Zeke! It was wonderful meeting you yesterday. You are far more handsome in person than in photos. Thanks, Chris & Becky for stopping by on your walk.

for some reason, i want to sing that zeke’s “the leader of the pack.” he looks so noble and alert!
carrie—no, not all CA sidewalks are like that. most don’t have zeke on them. many have planted space betwixt the cement and the street, and curbs instead of gullies. some sidewalks are all broken up by the growth of curbside trees over the decades. some stop suddenly, for no good reason, and some go over bridges. a few are made of brick or stone. others are comprised entirely of steep steps, made of various materials. up in the sierras and in various parks, there are wooden sidewalks. this is a very incomplete compendium, because even natives of CA haven’t been everywhere and seen all the sidewalks.

So very true kathy a. Speaking of the gold country and Sierra communities, there are many without sidewalks at all, as well as others that have their sidewalks on top of concrete walls that love to destroy your car fenders and doors. The latter ones require alluvial fans of asphalt pouring down from driveways, making parking an adventure.
As for the photo, do you need to where blue blocker sunglasses to get the correct color balance, or was it just one of those blues kind of daze?

I had the coolest walk/run today. Just out got out after the rain let up, and took to the sidewalks as the sun began to work its way under the following edge of the front. It was a walk of color; strolling along on top of the carpet of flattened wet maximally-radiant, fall-colored leaves from dozens of different hardwood trees. It was absolutely stunning; in that this carpet layer exhibited such a full spectrum of color along such a narrow set of wavelengths of light. So many different hues and tones of yellow mixed with either a bit of red or a bit of green or both. It took me twice a long because i became so enthralled in placing each foot on top of a section of color that i wanted to have radiate up through my being. Today is a good day to be.
