It’s a lousy movie

It’s poorly filmed, poorly edited, poorly realized, and too long by half even though I cut a third of it out already. What’s more, the star was having the worst hair day ever. And the credits are self-indulgent.

But it’s got a bunny in it.

(About 4 megs, may take a few minutes to load.)

I'm sorry, but the comment period for this entry has ended.

What a wonderful movie!  I *felt* Thistle’s excitement, his need to explore, and his quest for something good to eat.  The ear-swiveling scene alone will catapult him to stardom.  Does he have an agent?

I like the music! thistle’s brindle looks like she’s in dappled light.

Would you believe I watched almost all of it before it occurred to me that there might be a soundtrack to go with it?  Hee.

I love the credits, and the scenes with Thistle in among the plants—look out!  Here comes the hand!

You’re too modest. The ear-flicking in time to the music was cinematic poetry. Or, leastways, it made me giggle.

Who played Mysterious disembodied hand #1?

Who played Mysterious disembodied hand #1?

Kevin Costner.

That rabbit’s dynamite!

Isn’t that Bill Monroe’s “Music To Eat Shit out of the Garden By”?

Only you could make me watch a cute pet movie and like it.  I might have to use a smiley in my comment just to get back at you :-P

Norbizness, you know as well as I do that Monroe never had much truck with that newgrass nonsense.

Thanks Chris, that really was fun.  I see your “best boy” was an old award winner himself.

Kevin Costner as the disembodied hand! Haha!

Thistle’s a beaut, and I’ve got to commend the Best Boy for his fine work on the lighting. Looked so natural.

music didn’t work for me. :(

hmm. probably not on your end - probably a problem with Quicktime Alternative.

That shouldn’t matter: it’s not alternative music.

All this time, I thought Thistle was a GIRL bunny!

(By the way, don’t you think he’ll regret this later in his acting career, when it turns up on the National Enquirer website and the whole world knows he once did nude scenes in this low-budget romp?)

I laughed out loud at the “Best Boy” credit for Zeke.

As to Costner, Disembodied Hand may be the best acting he’s done in years. He showed a lot more sensitivity and genuine passion than he did in The Postman, or Robin Hood.

You’ll never win an Oscar for short films if you keep releasing your masterpieces in March.  Just like you never try to market an unjustified, immoral and illegal war in August.

Wonderful short.  Thistle’s quite the star!  Of course, the “crew” can probably take a little credit for that.

Thistle has fantastically talented ears!

Thanks for sharing this - it is positively giggle-inducing, and I love that song.

 Loved the movie!

And that’s No Baloney.

Kevin Costner’s hand double most likely.
