On rape, and privilege, and being seen
March 1, 2009 I've removed this post. It's getting a lot of traffic lately despite being more than a year old, in part because the same old feminist blog war shit has flared up again, and I'm not sure whether to yawn or vomit.
I regret ever having taken part in the original shitstorm, and I can't have this post being used as context or collateral for version 2. I've come to the conclusion that there is no good I can do on the topic, at least online. I won't be writing about these things anymore and am devoting my online efforts to environmental politics, which is not only an area in which I have something valuable to say but also one remarkably devoid of drama addicts.
