Spam overload

300-600 of the damn messages every single day. I give up. It’s time to ditch the email address I’ve had for the last five years. When Faultline was operational, I needed a publicly available email address to allow people to send me news items and such. That’s no longer the case. No reason to endure the spam.

I’ll be switching to a new address in a couple weeks. I’ll be sending out a mass email to everyone in my address book. Let me know — by email or commenting here — if you want me to make sure to give it to you.

I'm sorry, but the comment period for this entry has ended.

Hopefully, I’ll be a recipient of your new email address.

Hey Chris,

Please do keep me in your address book, letting me know of your new e mail address.  Would be fun to catch up with one another one of these daze :)

Take good care of yourself Chris, and thanx so much for your blog.  I really enjoy reading the diversity of topics you write about, and enjoy the quality and style of your writing.

Be well,

Wimp. I get much more than twice that much — I’ve got filters to process them all.

Hopefully, I’ll be a recipient of your new email address.

Mom, the auditions for Everybody Loves Raymond are over.

If you feel comfortable sharing it with me, I’d appreciate it.

Have you considered using a gmail account? I get almost no spam since I switched. The reply-to address in all the outgoing mail is still my old mail addres. Incoming mail is simply forwaded by my mail server to the gmail address where the clever gnomes at google filter out 99.99999% of the spam without any fuss on my part. Works like a charm. I can “invite” you if you’d like.

Me!  I have a great investment opportunity I know you’ll love.

Oh, pick me — pick me!  And also, I’ve got about a frillion gmail address invitations available, if you like.

Last but not least, the poem made my day.

Me please.

Thanks, all, for the gmail suggestion and invite offers. I have a gmail account that I use for large files, and about 100 invitations (if anyone wants one.) But I have the faultline domain and I might as well use it.

In the meantime, I’m collecting allayer names for the mass email.

Please include me in the list.

Yes, please!

Chris,

Please add me.

Thanks,

Mike

me too!!

Chris, I haven’t commented over here much, but I’d like to be on that list, please.  Thanks.
