I wish Burke were right, but I fear he’s not. I am also reminded that shortly after the 2004 election, he suggested that the Democratic Party pick a direction: libertarian-lite, or Christian Democrat. It was an interesting thesis, but pretty much guaranteed to lose, IMO. And that kind of speculation in public is not helpful.
