    I need a reason to keep hoping that somehow, some way this is going to get better — that the human race isn’t, and shouldn’t be — doomed.

    OK, I read the little article. They’re not being hired to clean up the cities. They’re just being hired by the Navy to clean up naval bases under a pre-existing slimy scheme, I mean, contract.
