Forgive the crass commercialism, and I won’t even mention that thing that happens toward the end of the year with the orgy of consumption and the stress and the Carol of the Bells driving you into a tightly choreographed stabbing frenzy, but 2010 is coming up. You’ll need a calendar. Other people you know will as well. I have one for sale with my Joshua tree photos on each page. Actually, I have more than one, but each one is the same. They’re all collectively called “Sentinels of the Mojave.” A sample page, from September 2010, is featured at left. You can see the whole thing here. You can buy the whole thing there too. $24.98, major credit cards accepted and the evil paypal too.

Great photos. Looking forward to the calendar (a christmas present to myself).
By the way, recently drove the the road (rte 178?) between 14 and Isabella Lake.
First time I’ve ever been that way. The Joshua trees were absolutely awesome.
I love that route. At the summit (Walker Pass) there’s a little BLM campground where me, Zeke, and the dear ex- camped 13 years ago for a few days. One can camp there, hike along the Pacific Crest Trail (which runs just to the east of the campground) and see Joshua trees and coastal flora like Fremontias in the same field of view. It’s lovely.
Just checked my atlas and probably see the one you mean. Must check it out next time through. That day, I went on up the Kern and camped at a dispersed site not too far from Trail of 100 Giants. It was wonderful up there too.
