A note comes from the dear ex: the rabbit is very sick and she faces a difficult decision.
Thank you, Thistle, for bringing me joy and occasional bites.
Thank you, Becky, for tending him.

How did I miss this movie before now? It’s wonderful.
I don’t think I ever knew about Thistle’s two-toned face. I would have been tempted to name him Iapetus.
I remember that when we transferred the Jeep from one of us to the other, Thistle was undergoing a health crisis. It is good that he overcame that and gained some extra time.
My thoughts and heart go out to Becky in this.
Chris, I’m sorry. Thistle had a definite place in the pantheon that was Creek Running North, and I found your writings about him to be very funny and very sweet. I, too, remember a couple of times when he was having health problems, and I sent good wishes through the ether to him, as well as to Becky and you, which I now do again.
Thistle was a connection between you and Becky at one time, and, as Thistle moves beyond this life, that connection, like so many others already have, is fraying. I find that strikingly poignant. I’ve learned that when you dismantle a life that you shared with someone, the dismantling doesn’t happen all at once. I suppose that should be obvious, but, for me, it still comes as a jolt even many years later.
