Tags: As I mentioned a couple days ago, Coyote Crossing now has tags. On the home page sidebar you’ll see a list of the most-used tags, each of which you can click to get to a list of articles tagged with that tag. A list of all tags is here. On each article page’s sidebar you’ll see a list of those tags applied to that article, and a place for you to enter your own tags, which could be either topical or genre-based or even something along the lines of “Arvind’s favorites” for example, though you probably shouldn’t use that exact tag unless you’re Arvind.
Post ratings: You can now, using a menu at the bottom of each post but above the comments area, rate each post if you like on a five-point scale. Take a look at the ratings and you’ll see that only one is negative. The reason for this is that the main intent of the ratings functionality is to power a “greatest hits”-style list in the sidebar, which works best if people spread their ratings out so that they don’t all bunch up in the vicinity of five. Really, I’ll take everything above 1 with gratitude for the praise. (I’ll take 1s as constructive criticism.) Have fun rating.
Letters from the desert: For reasons known only to me and long-since forgotten, I set this blog up a year ago as two distinct weblogs sharing the same front end. It made sense to me at the time. It doesn’t anymore, in part because having two blogs with the same face made things like searching and browsing much more cumbersome. So I went through and republished all last years’ Letters From The Desert as Coyote Crossing blog entries. All of ‘em are tagged with the “Letters from the desert” tag. If that sounds unnecessarily confusing, that’s because it is. But I think it’s better now.
I think that’s it. Now I’ve got a thing or two to do around the house.

Or unless you want to mess with Arvind’s favorites :-)
