It’s my birthday today. I’ve been flogging this birthday wish on Facebook for the last few days, but I’ve neglected to do so here. I’m asking everyone to donate what you can to the Desert Protective Council.
From the relevant Causes page:
For my birthday on January 4th, I’m asking my friends and family for a special gift: help me raise $1000 for Desert Protective Council. It’s a great cause that stands alone in protecting our deserts from destructive energy development.
I chose Desert Protective Council because over the last year we saw one environmental group after another say “yes” to paving the desert. The DPC stood firm. I believe in them.
Please consider giving to my Birthday Wish, and together we can make sure we have some desert left for the next generation. If you can’t give now, I’d really appreciate if you’d share this page with anyone you think might be interested.

Chris, first happy birthday.
Thanks for all the good works here and at DPC and Solar Done Right.
I believe DPC is doing a great job, I just hope my financial situation improves soon and I will be able to chip in some too.
Here’s to 2011 being better all around, especially as regards the deserts.

Happy Birthday. Your blog has made me critically aware of the threats that our precious deserts face. I also feel blessed to enjoy your writing. Thank you.
