I’ve literally been pulling 20-hour workdays getting The Clade up, so not much in the way of writing from me here. (It’s not self-sacrifice: I can use the site as a piece of my web site building portfolio.) Even before launch, contributors have jumped on board and we’ve got some great stuff already live over there. Check it out. And jump on board yourself!

“Bannination.” Holy smokes, that sounds and looks like something out of a game of fictionary. Is Chris mega-hip, or am I terminally un-hip for not having encountered that word before? Both, maybe.
More seriously, I’m impressed (and intimidated) by the number and quality of Clade posts already. This is very promising.
Chris,
Would stories about, and musings on, the desert, without any specific environmental comment be welcome? I feel somewhat intimidated about the idea of writing overt comments about the environment - I don’t follow these things closely enough to have a well reasoned opinion though I do have strong feelings about its destruction.
OTOH, I think I’ve spent enough time in enough parts of the desert to have earned my union card. This would also solve an upcoming dilemma of wanting to have something available for the next Carnival of the Arid without infesting my wife’s blog. I enjoy posting with her, but there are places I’d like to write about that she’s not been and has no images to post. Since her blog is largely about her art and her experiences making art, I don’t wish to distract.
BillW, I think you’re at this point pretty much obliged to post something. Come on over and sign up. And you can crosspost at Leslie’s too, and put a link in to her place.
